My New Little Assistant

Most of you may know that my husband and I recently welcomed a new member to our little family. Lane Scott was born on December 14th and I now fully understand unconditional love.
You see, I was 1 week overdue and had to be induced that cold December Monday morning. The drive to the hospital was one I’ll never forget. Brandon and I talking casually as if our lives weren’t about to change forever. Trying to act calm while inside, I was feeling things I’ve never felt before. Anxiousness, excitement and nervousness like no other!
The experience didn’t start out very smoothly with me blacking out when they put the IV in me. I woke up turned on my side with an oxygen mask over my mouth, cold towel on my head and a nervous and worried husband standing next to me. That wasn’t the only scary thing that happened in those 12 hours of labor as many hours into labor, Lane’s heart rate was dropping because of the Pitocin so they were contemplating a C-Section. Thankfully, his heart rate went back to normal after they took me off of Pitocin.
When he decided to make his appearance in this world and they placed him on my chest, the feeling was indescribable. I was shaking with adrenaline and excitement for 10 minutes straight. There are no words to describe finally seeing that little face that you’ve been waiting to see for 9 months. Being a mom is absolutely amazing and the hardest job I’ve ever had, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Little man, you’ve changed our lives forever! 🙂
Of course we have a large amount of football clothes since dad is a coach.. 🙂
